In its 35 game of the season Barcelona defeated Villarreal 4-1 in away game, confirming the first place on the top of the table and ahead of Real Madrid
Barcelona has four points plus, ahead of Real Madrid game on Sunday (playing Osasuna at Santiago Bernabeu).
” It’s great how we reacted in this game. Just a few days ago we have fallen in the Champions League, and first match that follows is always a psychological examination. We have done it extraordinarily, proving once again how quickly we can raise” -- said coach Josep Guardiola, and then mentioned his hero of the game:
“Xavi is an absolute hero! He played all 90 minutes, scored a goal, and risked a performance at the World Cup. He had minor injury on the left leg, but still he was asking to play. I put him in, even though I was afraid. Nothing happened, except that he showed how much he loves this club, how big his heart is, an for me he is an absolute hero.”
Barcelona midfielder scored a beautiful goal from a free kick for a 2-0 lead.
