The first round of US Open men’s competition brings up duel between M. Baghdatis and T. Fritz.
Baghdatis is an experienced tennis player who has long gone through his zenith and and currently plays tennis almost just for entertainment. He was at its peak 10-11 years ago when he played Roger Federer and we remember his good games at Wimbledon where he tortured Novak Djokovic.
He is currently 83rd on the ATP list, and according to my analysis have the same chances as Fritz for the victory.
The young American is slowly breaking into top 100 but it seems to me that he has not given the maximum yet and we need more clear picture about him. This is certainly his tournament where he will be supported by the fans, although Marcos Baghdatis will not lag behind and I expect a very good and uncertain match. Fritz is far more inexperienced than Baghdatis, but in my opinion, he has a much better first servis and shots strength that will be his weapon for victory. He has chances for a win and some better result here, but if he wants to break into the 100 he must win and make a successful appearance at this tournament.
They have not met yet, it is the first duel for them so far and I expect Fritz’s victory in 5 sets.
Tip: Fritz’s victory listed as -105 moneyline at Bovada tennis.
