Brescia vs Palermo
Saturday, September 2, 6:00 PM
Stadio Mario Rigamonti, Brescia
On Saturday, September 2, at 18 o’clock, we are expecting second round of the Italian Serie B, in which teams of Brescia and Palermo, the former Serie A team, will meet.
Brescia managed to get in excellent form before the very end of last season, but the disastrous showing from the beginning of the season influenced them to end in the lower half of the table at the end. All in all, after well-prepared preseason games where they draw with Cagliari (2:2), then they won against the teams of Giana Erminio (2:0) and Chiserano (2:0), they returned to action in Italian football.
After winning Coppa Italia Second round against Padova (1:0) on August 6th, they lost to Pescara in the third (1:3), and soon after that they lost against Avellino (2:1) at the very beginning of the new season of Serie B, where the biggest impact on the match was a red card, as they have been the dominant team for almost over 90 minutes.
Certainly their match against Palermo may be the best chance to get back into the rhythm and immediately attack the top of the table and therefore secure placement in Serie A. Due to the representative duties the coach will not have at his disposal Mauro Coppolaro (Italy U20).
Palermo won their match against Virtus Francavilla (5:0) in the Coppa Italia second round, after very bad last season when they only managed to secure 19th place. Unfortunately soon after that they lost again against Cagliari in extra time (2:1) of Coppa Italia Third round.
Opposite to Brescia, Palermo opened Serie B season with a win against Spezia (2:0) so now they hope to return to elite Serie A competition as they are currently placed fifth in Serie B.
Of course, the big problem for them will be the fact that they have many foreign players in their ranks, and now there are many national duty games for all of them. Therefore, the Sicilian team for this match will not have the goalkeeper Josip Posavec (Croatia U21), defender Thiago Cionek (Poland), the left back Haitam Aleesami (Norway), Aljaž Struna (Slovenia), defensive midfielder Mato Jajalo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), central midfielder Ivaylo Chochev (Bulgaria), left wingman Aleksandar Trajkovski (Macedonia), as well as central attackers Ilija Nestorovski (Macedonia) and Simone Lo Faso (Italy U20).
The fact that Nestorovski, Trajkovski and Aleesami scored 6 goals together tells us how important these players are, while Palermo scored 8 goals altogether after 3 games played.
Given that Palermo will not be able to count on practically entire first team, starting with fantastic first goalkeeper Posavec and prolific scorer Trajkovski, certainly worth the try will be bet on victory of Brescia whose players are now highly motivated.
Palermo was perhaps the worst visiting team during the last season, primarily due to a different climate from Sicily and other parts of Italy.
Tip: Brescia victory. Bovada offered quote +120 (bet 100 to win 120$).
